💃 Bailalobas x Blijf Groep:

Healing Through Movement

🛡️ 50 Years of Breaking the Cycle of Abuse – Blijf Groep

For over five decades, Blijf Groep has been a lifeline for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence in the Netherlands. Their mission? To stop violence and build safer futures—one individual, one family, one community at a time.

From crisis shelters to long-term support programs, Blijf Groep offers personalized, trauma-informed care for women, children, and families navigating the aftermath of abuse, including the often invisible wounds of coercive control. With branches across North Holland and Flevoland, they are a national leader in innovation, advocacy, and survivor-centered solutions.

In a powerful collaboration with Blijf Groep, Bailalobas introduced its signature Dance & Movement Therapy to the women of Oranje Huis shelter in Amsterdam, offering them not just safety, but a way to come back home to their bodies.

This wasn’t a dance class.
It was a journey of emotional repair, nervous system regulation, and embodied self-worth.

💫 What the Program Offered:

Trust-building through 5 intro sessions that gently opened space for connection
10 trauma-informed group sessions guided by certified dance therapists
Scarves, drawings, music, and breathwork as healing tools
Grounding rituals & traditional circle dances inspired by ancient Greek and Slavic cultures
✅ A safe space to reclaim agency, voice, and joy

📊 Measurable Impact, Backed by Research

This program wasn’t just healing—it was evidence-based.

  • Reduced anxiety

  • Increased self-esteem

  • Greater body awareness and emotional regulation

Backed by academic partners like Autonomous University of Barcelona, Panteion University, and Hellenic Open University, our work at Bailalobas bridges science, soul, and sisterhood.

🌸 Why It Works

After domestic abuse, survivors don’t just need information—they need transformation.
They need to feel safe, seen, and in charge of their own story again.

That’s where embodied healing comes in.

Movement bypasses the mind’s defenses and meets trauma where it lives—in the body. Through structured, supportive sessions, participants at Oranje Huis experienced renewed vitality, restored dignity, and real emotional freedom.

💬 Ready to See What’s Possible?

What if recovery didn’t feel like hard work—but like rhythm, flow, and connection?

This is the promise of Bailalobas.
And this partnership with Blijf Groep is proof that when movement meets mission, change is not only possible—it’s powerful.
